Blogger und Twitterer berichten direkt aus Haiti

Mit dem Erdbeben brachen in Haiti auch die Kommunikationsleitungen zur Aussenwelt zusammen. Journalisten haben Mühe, ihre Berichte abzusetzen, sich überhaupt ein Bild von der Lage zu machen.

Doch Alternativen sprangen in die Lücke, beispielsweise Twitterer, und sind derzeit die Quellen für die News, welche wir bei uns mitbekommen. Beispiele:

2. RAMhaiti I saw a couple of helicopters twice today but there is no sign that the international presence is helping the population half a minute ago from web

Die Nachrichtenagenturen und internationalen Medien informieren sich aber auch über Blogs, zum Beispiel über haitifeed.com.

@fredodupoux: jacmel is similar to port-au-prince. i talked to a friend over there and told me it’s not looking good. he is actually stuck over there and cant join his family in PAP tonight.

2- @chelaze: @Haitifeed are the airport and runways destroyed?
@fredodupoux: it wasn’t big enough to destroy streets, just to break down tall  and poorly constructed buildings

3- @cosagorda: @Haitifeed is the episcopal cathedral still standing?
@fredodupoux: only two poles are up.
